Overview
Located on the Vindhayan Plateau, Van Vihar Sanctuary in Rajasthan is known for its dhok and khair trees along with a rich wildlife. It is situated 16 km from Dholpur City and is one of the oldest wildlife reserves of the rulers of Dholpur. Spread in an area of 25 sq km, the sanctuary makes for a great destination for nature and wildlife lovers who can spot sambhar, chital, blue bull, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena and leopard and more. Van Vihar became a sanctuary in 1955 by the Rajasthan Government.
