Rare Sighting of Sloth Bear in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve: Sloth Bear Tries to Break into Ancient, Disused Temple

Ranthambore is full of stories; sometimes wild and other times adorable. One such sweet video clip is circling over social media in which a curious sloth bear tries to enter an ancient temple's ruin present in the forest.

The viral video from Ranthambore National Park was recorded by a tourist on the evening safari in the Park's 10th zone on the 18th of October. The video begins with a solitary full-grown sloth bear entering the vicinity of a ruin of an ancient temple. The bear, as if wanting to know what's inside, Knocks, pushes, and pulls on the temple's locked grill gate. After multiple failed attempts over several minutes, the sloth bear lets it go and moves on to explore further.

Sloth bears are rare and sturdy wild creatures having a population of about a hundred in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. They are non-carnivores nonetheless dangerous akin to the Bengal Tigers. There are many wildlife news and videos of when sloth bears subdued and drove away apex predators like tigers.
