Singapore Mission Official Spots Tigress ‘Shakti’ at Ranthambore National Park

A great news for the park officials of Ranthambore as the mission officer of Singapore sighted Tigress Shakti wandering through the grasslands of the forests. Some captivating photos were circulated on the X page featuring the magnificent and ferocious tigress, Shakti. The photos were shared on May 19, 2024, which added a spotlight to the fauna found in Ranthambore’s landscape.

In Ranthambore National Park, Sean Lim, the First Secretary (Political) to the Singaporean High Commissioner, sighted the Tigress Shakti roaming around the stunning grasslands creating a mesmerising panorama for him. This great and exhilarating news vigorously flowed throughout the social media platform when Simon Wong shared some eye-catching photos and a heartwarming caption on X about Lim’s experience, the first secretary who was "lucky" to have seen Shakti in Ranthambore.

Increase in Tiger Population in Ranthambore

Due to great measures and better protection methods, the tiger population in the state has been continuously increasing. According to the last survey and data collected in 2018, the National Park of Ranthambore has the highest number of tiger species in Rajasthan. In June 2021, Tigress Shakti was spotted for the first time with her four cubs in the Lakarda forest area in the Kundera range. According to recent statistics, there are around 69 tigers and tigress in Ranthambore National Park with 21 males, 30 females and 18 cubs.
